Both The Egyptian E-Learning and South Valley Universities Discuss the modern technologies in Teaching and training


  • The 1st scientific conference of the Language Education and Research Center in Hurghada, “Language education and research between theory and practice: future visions,” was held at the Faculty of Education in Hurghada, South Valley University Branch.

    This was chaired and attended by Dr. Ahmed Akawi, Vice President for post-graduation Studies and Research, Dr. Mahfouz Abdel Sattar - Vice President for Hurghada Branch, Dr. Al-Saad Al-Ghoul Al-Saadi - Dean of the Faculty of Alsun, Dr. Ashraf Mahmoud Ahmed - Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Russian Consul and a number of leaders from South University El-Wadi, Hurghada branch, under the auspices of Prof. Youssef El-Gharabawi - President of South Valley University and Prof. Hisham Abdel Salam - President of the Egyptian E-Learning University.

    Prof. Hisham Abdel Salam expressed his happiness with the university’s participation in the conference to discuss very important topics that meets the requirements of the labor market, including (languages, translation and learning, literature, linguistics, the environment and trends of digitizing language curricula), in addition to addressing a number of modern issues (such as scientific research, languages ​​and translation between Local need and international aspirations, technology, languages ​​and translation, challenges facing professionals in academic fields and the labor market, teacher education and professional development, bilingualism and multilingualism, positive psychology in language education).

    Abdel Salam explained the role of the university and its participation in the conference activities by chairing the scientific sessions and workshops such as the “Modern Techniques in Teaching and Training” workshop, which aimed to provide the trainees with the concept of modern technologies and their impact on the development of education and training, the pros and cons of using modern technologies, the controls of the use of modern technology and the most important applications Used in preparing an interactive lesson or training course, and another entitled "Designing electronic courses using Moodle", where the workshop aims to provide the trainees with the concepts of e-learning and e-courses, and to familiarize themselves with the Moodle e-course management system, its features and capabilities, as well as training to create an e-course with the management of users and resources and the preparation of tests and electronic activities. Research and a working paper entitled “Recent and Future Trends in E-Learning” were also presented.

    Dr. Mahfouz, Director of the Hurghada Academic Center and Vice President of South Valley University for Hurghada Branch, indicated that the conference aims to raise the professional and knowledge level of language specialists through - exchanging knowledge and experiences, discussing mechanisms for raising the level of performance between specialists in the two fields, and enhancing the role of research. Scientific studies for applied linguistics specialists and improving the general level of performance of language teachers.– Spreading a culture of innovation and leadership in the fields of applied linguistics and language teaching and presenting modern technologies and pioneering experiences in the field of linguistics.

    It is worth mentioning that on the sidelines of the conference, (18) research papers and workshops and (28) papers were presented, in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, German, Italian and French. More than 150 male and female researchers and graduate students attended the conference.

    It is worth noting that the National Egyptian E-Learning University has been established since 2008 as the first electronic university in Egypt. It includes faculties (computers and information technology - business administration - educational studies) and 13 study centers spread across 12 governorates with High-quality educational services at affordable costs.
