The Minister of Higher Education heads the meeting of the University board of trustees

 

Eng. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Scientific Education, this morning, the University’s Board of Trustees ’meeting for The Egyptian E-Learning University, in the presence of Eng. Alaa Fahmy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and the board members.

During the meeting, the Minister affirmed, the development of E-learning, referring to the Egyptian proactive vision of the republican drawing No. 71 of 2018 to transform the Egyptian E-Learning University "EELU" from a private university to a national one, to be the first Egyptian university to provide high-quality education for non-reachable places far from the capital city.  using information technology, explaining that the Corona pandemic crisis has demonstrated the necessity of maximizing the use of new technological means in education and scientific research, and expanding the distance education system.

The minister pointed out that the restructuring of the university and the formation of the board of trustees contributed to push forward the university's work and developing its performance.

The meeting reviewed work developments at the university over the past three years, as the university has 12 centers in various governorates of Egypt, in addition to the university providing educational services to about 4,000 students in information technology and business administration programs.

The meeting also discussed the development of educational and cognitive services provided by the university, and the minister called for raising the university’s technological infrastructure, indicating to benefit from the transformation in the distance education system during the past period, to provide a high degree of interactivity, and to provide means of explanation and clarification of high efficiency approaching the quality of education in face To face.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed to the great effort to raise the efficiency of the technological infrastructure, develop electronic networks in Egyptian universities, and provide digital educational platforms, directing the inclusion of the National Egyptian E-Learning University within the project of digitalizing Egyptian universities.

The Minister also directed to develop a plan for the future goals of the university, linking it to a clear plan of action, and to seek the help of the Ministry's advisory fund, which is concerned with providing the necessary support to the nascent universities, developing internal regulations, academic curricula provided by the university, and concluding twinning agreements with foreign universities and joint study programs with international universities. The same programs are similar, and provide suitable programs for Egyptians wishing to study at the university from within the countries in which they are located, as well as interest in student activities, provide training programs for graduates and technicians, and cooperate with civil social organizations.

The meeting also discussed starting to pursue the university headquarter in Badr City, so that it would have an independent entity equipped with high-level material and technological capabilities.
