The Egyptian E-Learning University’s team has qualified for the finalists in the Egypt Award for Government Services Applications competition, which is organized by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, among the best 12 teams at the level of universities and educational institutions in Egypt. The competition was launched for the first time at the Cairo International Exhibition for Communications and Information Technology which is held under the auspices of the President. The university team, which includes students at the College of Computing and Information Technology (Shadi Beshri Labib, Kyrollos Samir Fouad, and Karim Ahmed Helmy), created the “Accident Happened” application. This application offers rescue and emergency services by facilitating locating the accident, and knowing the type of accident; for easy identification of the type of assistance required from the "ambulance - fire - civil defense". The team explained that the new application will facilitate the tasks of the Ambulance, Fire Brigade, and Civil Defense, and will allow them to easily determine the route and the quality of service required for the accident. The application helps save lives and offers speed treatment and ease of access to the accident in an integrated manner.
