The Minister of Planning honors the students of the Egyptian E-Learning University for obtaining the second place in the award of "Egypt for Governmental Applications

The Egyptian E-Learning University headed by Professor Hisham Abdel Salam,

President of the University, won second place at the level of the Republic in the

competition «Egypt Award for Governmental Services Applications» launched by the

Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to encourage creative thinking and

innovation among youth in developing everything related to the governmental system in a

way that contributes to accelerate the government performance in an innovative and

distinct way.

Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, honored the

students of the faculty of Computer Science who won the second place in the competition

of "Accident Happened", in a mini-ceremony held at the Ministry's headquarters, where

the university team received a purse, in addition to its support for the achievement,

incubation and implementation of the application and helping students to establish their

own startup.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development indicated that the honored youth

are role models of Egypt's youth who have made a great achievement in the journey of

excellence, creativity and innovation, confirming Egypt's interest in the issue of

creativity, innovation and governmental applications, whose importance has increased

after the COVID 19 crisis and everything related to digital transformation, explaining that

 

a large number of the country’s institutions are currently operating virtually, emphasizing

the idea and the priority of creativity and innovation.

the university’s team included “Shady Bushra Labib, Kyrollos Samir Fouad, and Karim

Ahmed Helmy,” who created the “Accident Happened” application, which helps in

rescue missions and emergency services by providing accurate access to the location of

the accident, and knowing the type of accident that accelerate the type of assistance

required from (ambulance - fire department - civil defense).

The team explained that the new innovation is an electronic application that will facilitate

the tasks of the paramedic, firefighters and Civil Defense Authority, and will allow them

to easily determine the route and the quality of service required to be provide for the

accident, which will help save lives, speed treatment of the injured, ease of access to

them and provide all services in an integrated manner.

For his part, the university’s president appreciated the project that is sponsored by

President El-Sisi for the digital transformation of all governmental services, and out of

this support the university encourages its talented students and strives to support the idea

of entrepreneurship among them.

It is noteworthy that the Egypt Prize for Governmental Services Applications competition

was announced in light of the Egyptian government's endeavor to transform into a digital

society, with the aim of providing digital services in simple and affordable ways at

anytime and anywhere for all citizens.
